If there’s one thing Starbucks knows well, it’s that almost all of us are suckers for dessert. So whenever they debut a new, lip-smacking latte, the temptation to try it is often too strong to resist. And their newest drink is no exception.

From February seventh until February 14, you can grab yourself a limited-edition Cherry Mocha latte or Frappuccino from Starbucks stores in Canada and the U.S.

Curious about what makes the drink so special? Well, baristas add a heavenly, candied cherry syrup to the regular mocha, and top it off with a generous swirl off whipped cream and colourful sprinkles. So it’s essentially a liquefied, chocolate-covered cherry mixed with espresso.

After trying the drink for myself — at half the sweetness level since Starbucks drinks are always a little too sweet, if you ask me — it was easy to imagine myself drinking more than one of these beauties in a single sitting. Not only was the subtle cherry flavour pleasant, but the mocha also balanced the chocolate, candy and coffee tastes perfectly. So why bother choosing between candy, chocolate or coffee when you could have all three of them in one spectacular drink?

Starbucks also started serving two new snacks you might want to try pairing with the Cherry Mocha (if you can handle the insane amount of sugar, that is): Valentine’s Day-inspired cake pops and cookies. And they truly are a pretty sight.

Well done, Starbucks. Well done.
