Why is it so difficult to make a healthy smoothie that you still find appetizing? It’s incredibly easy to create one that’s far too sweet, too watery or tastes too much like grass from all the greens thrown into it. And as trendy as kale or avocados are, you probably don’t feel that motivated to have them when they’re in liquid form.

But making a healthy smoothie that tastes great isn’t impossible. All you need to do is add in a variety of ingredients to prevent the taste of one veggie or fruit from becoming overwhelming. So instead of freestyling your own recipe, we’ve got a healthy smoothie recipe that’s definitely worth a try:

Ingredients

  • handful of cucumber slices
  • spinach, to taste
  • 1 orange, peeled
  • 1 banana, sliced
  • 1/2 cup water

Directions

  1. Add all ingredients into blender and blend until smooth.

Want more than one smoothie recipe so you can switch it up during the week? Then here are a whole bunch of great-tasting ones that will keep you satisfied all week long:

Creamy Chocolate Smoothie

This smoothie may look like a mouthwatering dessert, but I can assure you that it won’t damage your diet. In this chocolaty treat, banana, cocoa powder, avocado and a touch of maple syrup are blended together. You can even pop it in the freezer for a few hours and then blend it again to make a chocolate sorbet.

Maple Water Smoothie

Not all kale smoothies taste terrible. To make a great-tasting one, just blend maple water, frozen strawberries, mango, kale, spinach, avocado and protein powder together. And if you don’t have maple water on hand, you can always replace it with coconut water.
