No one was more surprised than Maria when she met her fiancé, Fortunato (“Nato”), on the dance floor six years ago.
“I never in a million years thought that I would meet the love of my life salsa dancing in Canada.”
But they say salsa is all about passion, so why not? And it turned out these two had a lot more in common than just their love of dance.
“I couldn’t believe I had never seen her before. We were studying medicine at the same school,” Nato recalls. “It was very refreshing to date someone who has the same goals, who has the same profession, and now, we both work in the same building as family physicians.” Aww…
Although the couple have been engaged for two years, they’d put wedding planning on the back burner until their demanding careers had settled down. Now, they’re ready to plan their perfect day, which means finding an historic venue that shows off both her Mexican culture and his strong Italian heritage.
“I’m looking for something historical that has beautiful architecture,” Maria explains. “Nothing too modern. A venue that brings in lots of natural light.”
But that’s not all: Since they both have such demanding jobs, Nato wants a turnkey venue to keep the whole planning process as stress-free as possible. And it’s got to be close to the city with plenty of accommodations nearby for their guests flying in from Mexico.
Thank goodness they called in a professional.
