Self-proclaimed Prairie girl Katie had no idea what she was in for when she met a boisterous foodie named Gerry shortly after moving to the big city. But once he finally got up the courage to ask her out to a local Spanish restaurant, it was love at first churro.
It’s a real Toronto love story. “This is where the story started, this is where all the moments were created,” says Gerry. But it wasn’t the one Katie imagined for herself growing up in Saskatoon: “I thought my type was—” “A white farm boy?” says Gerry. “Pretty much,” she says. “But that’s the beauty of Toronto.” She found her soulmate in a Sri Lankan food blogger.
“I basically get to eat food, take pictures of it and post it,” Gerry explains. Katie, who’s an optometrist, didn’t even know that was a job, but you better believe she’s all in now as this modern hipster couple gets ready to make it official.
But they’re going to need some help finding a location that can marry all their passions, impress Gerry’s foodie friends and showcase the city they both love for their two very different families.
And, of course, every aspect needs to be totally Insta-worthy.
Can Tommy Smythe find a venue that satisfies all of this couple’s diverse wishes and perfectly captures their Toronto love story?
