Jonathan Phang

With a career spanning over 25 years and three hit television shows under his belt, Jonathan Phang, a self-confessed bon viveur with a passion for gastronomy, feels the allure of old world glamour and sets off on a gourmet journey crossing continents aboard some of the world’s most elegant trains … in his new series Jonathan Phang’s Gourmet Trains.

Along the way he stops off in extraordinary culinary destinations, such as Venice, Paris, Singapore, Bangkok and Istanbul to explore modern fine dining and the latest food trends.

However, it is aboard the fabulous trains that Jonathan truly tests the old adage that sometimes it can be better to travel than to arrive.

Jonathan Phang began his career as a photography agent and soon became a much coveted fashion industry expert. Although he had no intention of going into TV, his expertise landed him the role of judge on Britain’s Next Top Model. His personable charm won him an army of fans amongst viewers and contestants alike and paved the way for what has since been a successful TV career. Jonathan acted as a judge on Britain’s Next Top Model for three series and following his departure from the show, was asked to be a presenter and mentor on BBC3’s ground breaking show Britain’s Missing Top Model, part of the channel’s Beauty Season. The show adopted the same format as Britain’s Next Top Model, but followed eight women with disabilities competing for a modelling contract. The show won critical acclaim and Jonathan won the RADAR Media Award for Best Factual Programming as a result of his work on it.

Jonathan is also the author of the best selling cookbook – The Pepperpot Club – which tied in with his Food Network series Jonathan Pang’s Caribbean Cookbook.
